Most people who walk in with TMJ pain have been told it's stress, or to wear a night guard. Sometimes that helps — and sometimes we need to look deeper. That's what the diagnostic visit is for.

We use a CT scanner to look inside the jaw joints and surrounding muscles for the source of your symptoms.
For most patients, the first step is a custom bite guard: a mouthguard worn at night that gently adjusts the jaw so only the front teeth touch — preventing your back teeth from clenching and reducing the stress on the TMJ itself.
