Dr. Sullivan graduated from the University of the Pacific in San Francisco in 1996 with a Doctor of Dental Surgery degree. Since then he has completed advanced training with the world's leading educators in dentistry — including the Pacific Aesthetic Continuum, the Seattle Institute of Advanced Dental Studies, the Kois Center for Dental Excellence, and Spear Education, where he later served as a clinical mentor.
He has treated hundreds of restorative and cosmetic cases, and lectures nationally on implant and complex restorative dentistry. Labeled as a perfectionist by his patients, Dr. Sullivan is passionate about his profession.
Outside of dentistry, Dr. Sullivan is with his family, restoring vehicles, coordinating service projects, or working on his cooking. His family and friends will tell you he always has several projects in the works.
Whatever happened to just being really good at what I do? I want to be really good at what I do — and I want that to be enough.
Dr. Sullivan, on his practice philosophy
Dr. Sullivan has been voted a Phoenix Magazine Top Dentist by his peers every year since 2003 — 15 times as of 2026. Dentists in the valley are asked to vote for the three practitioners in each of nine specialties they consider the best. Dr. Sullivan has been on that list uninterrupted for more than two decades.
His practice and philosophy were featured on air by the late radio broadcaster Paul Harvey. He continues to lecture nationally on complex restorative and implant dentistry, and served as a clinical mentor for the Spear Institute at the Scottsdale Center for Dentistry.
